De November Nine van de WSOP
Zo'n 6.865 spelers zijn al verslagen, en nu nemen nog maar 9 spelers deel aan 's werelds grootste pokertoernooi – de WSOP.
De Rio All Suites Hotel en Casino is de gastheer van een van de meest spectaculaire events in de geschiedenis van het pokeren. Het is de WSOP 2011 en de Main Event - #58 liet sensationele poker aktie zien. Nu zijn er nog slechts 9 stoelen en één pokertafel. 's Werelds beste pokersterren nemen het spoedig tegen elkaar op in wat een ongelooflijk spannende wedstrijd belooft te worden.
De November Nine – van dichtbij
De grootste chipstapel is van de Tsjech Martin Staszko. Hij gaat aan de leiding met 40.175.000 chips. Hij speelt niet alleen aantrekkelijk poker op het hoogste niveau, maar is ook een ervaren schaker. In deze wedstrijd heeft hij tot nu toe een aardige $20.000 verdiend in 4 cashes. Martin Staszko verdient minstens $782.155 omdat hij bij de laatste negen spelers is.
Op de tweede plaats, en niet ver achter de leider, komt Eoghan O’Dea. Hij zit comfortabel op 33.925.000 chips en komt helemaal uit Dublin, Ierland. Eoghan is de zoon van pokerlegende Donnacha O’Dea die zesde werd in de World Series of Poker in 1983. Hij eindigde als negende in het Main Event van de WSOP in 1991. Eoghan O’Dea won de iPoker ECOOP III en $315.000 in 2008, dus is hij zeker van wat aardige punten.
Hailing from Austin, Texas is Matt Giannetti on 24,750,000 chips. Giannetti turned pro in 2006 and he’s already featured at 11 WSOP events. So far he’s earned $500,000 in his career. Behind him is Phil Collins on 23,875,000 chips. He is from South Carolina and he’s already earned $3.5 million playing at PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker.
The 5th placed poker star is Ben Lamb on 20,875,000 chips. He is from Tulsa, Oklahoma and features as one of the most notable stars in the 2011 World Series of Poker. To date he has won $1.3 million in the WSOP. Belize’s very own Badih Bounahra is on 19,700,000 chips. He has won $72,766 in live poker cash already and he stands to take home a minimum of $781,115 simply by making the November Nine.
The Bottom 3 of the November Nine
Germany’s hope rests with Pius Heinz, who is on 16,425,000 chips in 7th position. Anton Makievskyi – who is 21 years old - from the Ukraine, is in 8th place on 13,825,000 chips. The last member of the November Nine is Britain’s own - Samuel Holden on 13,825,000 chips. Should he finish in the selfsame position, he’ll still collect $781,115 for his efforts.
